Hi, all--here is our test spot on ProBoards! There look to be a lot of posting options--

lots of emoticons: ;D
Bold
Italics
Underline
Strikethrough
[glow=red]Glow[/glow] (upon preview, doesn't seem to work)
[shadow=red,left,300]Shadow[/shadow] (also doesn't seem to work)
Moving text, which is only a tad less irritating than having an oyster fork stuck in one's eye. Why couldn't this not work instead of the glow or shadow functions, I ask you??

which can be nice

Bigger text
Different font (though the available fonts aren't listed--you have to put that in the code tags
Colored Font (Though not a huge selection, you can probably insert other colors into the code)

Youtube embeds (which is rawther cool)--

Blockquotes, which allow us to indent really, really, really long quotes on either side, which is quite nice if you think about it.

Hyperlinks: laurierking.com.

Images, although it looks like they must be hosted to use this function (no uploads? Just hotlinking, which is not great netiquette?).

Tables, although you have to figure out where to put the info within the code, meh. Maybe they have a visual editor? That would be *much* better.

what does this do?

Not sure where to put all the text into the table code. *sticks tongue out at bb code*

And a number of other cool things, but it's all bb code in the posting box, which is pretty antiquated. I'd almost rather use html if a visual editor isn't available. But there are some cool things.

Oh, I think I figured it out. They would only let me assign the role of global moderator, so I guess they only allow one admin title. *shrugs* But you have all the allowed permissions/powers, etc, so I'm hoping that's functionally the same thing as an admin.

OK, I'm willing to try this one. And as a special bonus to those who are willing to join me in this experiment, I have a piece of hot news that I am posting only here. (Although if you want to re-post to the current VBC board or to the other experimental boards, who am I to complain?) I just learned that CBS is doing a Sherlock Holmes series in the fall, and Watson will be a woman, played by [glow=red,2,300]Lucy Liu[/glow]! tinyurl.com/85egvk4 (I just tried the "glow" function on Lucy Liu's name, just to check that it's still not working.) Nope, preview shows it's still not working.

Hello all! Took a while but I'm here! I know about Lucy Liu, I'm not as shocked as i probably should be...I always wanted to be Watson so maybe that's just too deeply ingrained for me to be angry about it...

I do like this board, but it does feel like swapping same for same and until you suggested it I'd never even heard of this site so I don't think we'd attract as many followers here as on goodreads! I do like that you can upload pics and youtube vids though...

Hi, all! The Lucy Liu news is rather strange. I like LL but as Watson?? Ah, well, maybe it will be a road into the Holmesian world for a new bunch of people. That can't hurt.

We can get rid of the ads if we decide to stay. It's a reasonable monthly fee and would be worth it.

This one is probably the most like the old board. It's supposed to have facebook integration, but now that we're set up, I can't find it. Meh.
